HAYSVILLE – An 18-year-old woman from Haysville has been identified after a one-car fatality crash early Sunday. Madison Dahl died in the crash, which happened shortly after midnight on Sunday, according to information from the Wichita Police Department.

CONWAY SPRINGS – In an effort to curb vandalism and illegal dumping, the City of Conway Springs will be installing a fairly extensive camera system around the community. The city has had problems for some time now, especially with vandalism at Central Park, and with illegal dumping at the city’s brush dump.

CHENEY – City council members tackled a relatively light agenda during last Thursday’s Cheney City Council meeting. During the meeting, council members voted to leave pool rates the same as last year.

Sumner County officials spent time last week visiting with constituents in both Wellington and Conway Springs, in events sponsored by the Sumner County Farm Bureau Association. On Wednesday, three state officials came to the Conway Springs Community Center. From left, State Rep. Bill Rhiley (R-Wellington), State Rep. Kyle Hoffman (R-Coldwater) and State Sen. Larry Alley (R-Winfield) visit with a handful of people. The Kansas Legislature is nearing the end of a two-week break, and officials will soon return to Topeka to wrap up the 2023 session.

TSnews GODDARD – With the city of Goddard handling an increased pace of commercial and residential developments, the Goddard City Council spent a good part of its Monday meeting reviewing and working to set policies related to bonds and financing. Kevin Cowan of Gilmore & Bell, the city’s bond counsel, was on hand to help guide the discussions.

HAYSVILLE – City leaders shared their plans for improved aquatics options in Haysville at a public meeting on Monday, April 10. Roughly two dozen stakeholders and members of the public were at the meeting, which included a review of last year’s community survey.

CHENEY – Members of the Cheney Chamber of Commerce are looking ahead with excitement for the Cheney Car Show and Celebrate Cheney event on Saturday, May 6. The event in downtown Cheney was discussed at last week's Chamber of Commerce meeting, and is a joint effort between the Cheney Fire Department and the Cheney Chamber of Commerce.

GODDARD – One of the key objectives of the Goddard Chamber of Commerce this year is engagement. That includes engagement between the Chamber and its members, member-to-member engagement, and engagement between members and community services with the community in general.

CONWAY SPRINGS – A Saturday water main break led to a boil order for residents of Conway Springs. While the water main break was fixed, the boil order remained in effect through the start of the week.
