Carolyn (Furman) Robbins, age 80, passed away on Monday, Jan. 12, 2026.

Funeral service will be 1 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 17, at Milton Methodist Church, 1378 N. Argonia Rd.

She was preceded in death by parents, John and Esther (Smith) Furman; siblings, Joy Furman, Dennis Furman, Keith Furman, Dwayne “Skip” Furman, David Furman, and Russell Furman.

Gary Whitney, age 73, owner of Gary’s Automotive and Clearwater Classics, passed away on Saturday, Jan. 10, 2026.

Funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Friday, Jan. 16, at Clearwater Community Church 450 N. 4th St.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Jack and Freida (Orrell) Whitney, and brothers, Joe Whitney and Curtis Whitney.

Anna (Matijakovic) Mueller, age 91, passed away Saturday, Jan. 10, 2026.

Rosary will be at 6 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 18, and funeral Mass will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday, Jan. 19, both at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Clonmel, 18630 W. 71st St. S., Viola.

She was preceded in death by her parents, George and Maria (Bradilo) Matijakovic; husband, Frank Mueller; and siblings, Frank, Catherine, and Steven Matijakovic.

Kathryn Brandes Hermsen entered Eternal Life on Jan. 1, 2026, with her loving husband by her side at Presbyterian Hospital in Plano, Texas. She was born in Wichita on Oct. 15, 1948, and grew up in Cheney, Kan. – a great small town with grandparents, aunts, uncles and many cousins to play with close by.

Donna J. (Vancuren) Bates, age 84, passed away on Friday, Jan. 9, 2026.

Visitation will be 5:30-7 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 13, at Webb Shinkle Mortuary, 200 S. Tracy, Clearwater. Funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 14 , at Viola Presbyterian Church, 304 S. Grice St, Viola.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Jerry Bates; parents, Robert and Louise (Ralston) Vancuren; and sisters, Linda Ingram and Ruth Etheridge.

Farrel R. Lange, 62, of Conway Springs, passed away, Tuesday, Jan. 6, 2026, at his home north of Conway Springs.

Farrel was born March 13, 1963 in Wichita to Fredrick Joseph Lange and Addie Valetta (Cline) Lange. He grew up in the Conway Springs community, where he attended St. Joseph Catholic School and Conway Springs public schools. He graduated from Conway Springs High School with the class of 1982.

Farrel was united in marriage to Alicia May (Wise) on March 31, 2007, at Clonmel. They made their home north of Conway Springs.

Delores (Pauly) Paney-Clark, 95, of Wichita, passed away Thursday, Jan. 1, 2026, at Sunflower Z Homes, in Garden Plain.

A rosary will held on Monday, Jan. 5, at 6 p.m., and funeral Mass will be Tuesday, Jan. 6, at 10:30 a.m., both at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, Clonmel. Interment will in St. John’s Catholic Cemetery.

Delores was born Nov. 20, 1930, to Werner P. Orth and Margaret (Halfmann) Orth on what was known as the Forshee Ranch near Castleton, Kan.

Joan (Beil) Hillmann, age 78, loving wife, mother and grandmother, passed away on Saturday, Dec. 27, 2025, at her home.

Funeral service will take place at 1 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 10, at Webb-Shinkle Mortuary, 200 S. Tracy, Clearwater.

She was born Aug. 2, 1947, in Dodge City, the daughter of Louis A. and Imogene (Evans) Beil. A longtime resident of Clearwater, she was a secretary and co-owner of HPCI and J&H Storage, LLC.

Paul “Buck” Leis, 61, passed away Friday, Dec. 19, 2025, leaving behind a lifetime of good stories, hard work, and a circle of friends who will never forget him. He never met a stranger and will be remembered for his big heart. He had a variety of trades, with the most recent being a Pro Desk Associate.
Rosary will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 3, and funeral Mass will follow at 10:30 a.m., both at Saint Catherine of Siena Catholic Church. A private family burial service will be held at a later date.
