Marie Grace (Peer) (Petersen) Nordstedt, age 86, passed away on Saturday, March 7, 2026.
Visitation will be 3-7 p.m., with family present 5-7 p.m., Tuesday, March 10, at Webb-Shinkle
Mortuary, Clearwater. Service will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, March 11, at Clearwater United Methodist
Church, 130 N. 1st St., Clearwater.
Marie is preceded in death by her first husband, Frank Petersen; second husband, Robert Nordstedt;
father, Marion Peer; mother, Mildred Peer; step-mother, Marian (Hershell) Peer; siblings, baby girl

Richard E. Lehner

Richard E. Lehner, 89, went peacefully to his heavenly home on Feb. 25, 2025.

Born on the family farm on July 5, 1936, Richard was baptized on Aug. 2, 1936, and confirmed on April 2, 1950, at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church. He was a proud United States Army veteran. After serving, he met his devoted spouse of 66 years while both were working at Southwestern Bell in Wichita. He spent the next 32 years working as an operator at the Coastal Derby Refining Company while also farming near Cheney.

Phyllis Ann (Cline) Yost, age 82, passed away on Wednesday, Feb. 25, 2026.

Funeral service will be held Thursday, March 5, at 10 a.m. at Clearwater United Methodist Church, 130 N. First, Clearwater.

Phyllis was a lifetime member of Lambda Psi Sorority and Eastern Star.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Clifford Cline and Maxine (Parker) Hopp.

Cleona “Cleo” (Sprout) Vandruff, age 89, passed away on Thursday, Feb. 19, 2026.

Funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 28, at Clearwater United Methodist Church, 130 N. First, Clearwater.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Bill Vandruff; parents, Joe and Veronica (Becker) Sprout; son, Kenneth Vandruff; and siblings, Charles Sprout, Lawrence Sprout, Jon Sprout, and Marilyn Truex.

Wayne H. Wulf, 76, of Goddard, died on Feb. 11, 2026.

Wayne was born Aug. 11, 1949, to Elwin and Luella (Brandes) Wulf in Wichita. 

Wayne served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. He was united in marriage to Donna Eskam on May 25, 1974. Wayne was proud to be a truck driver, and most importantly, loved being a father and grandfather.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Terry Lee Alloway

Terry Lee Alloway, 83, retired carpenter, of Conway Springs, died Friday, Feb. 6, 2026, at Wesley Woodlawn Hospital, Wichita.

Terry was born June 16, 1942, in Wellington, to Lawrence and Mary Jane (Compton) Alloway. He attended grade school in Cheney and Norwich before graduating from Conway Springs High School with the class of 1960. He continued his education at Coffeyville Junior College and was a member of the football team.

Terry was united in marriage to Sharon Sue Black on Sept. 1, 1962, in Cheney. They made their home near Viola, where they raised their three sons.

Melvin Dale Doramus

Melvin Dale Doramus, 88, of Wichita, passed away at home with his wife at his side on Monday, Jan. 26, 2026.

Dale was born on Feb. 6, 1937, in Wichita, to Phillip Melvin Doramus and Irma Evelyn (Shutler) Doramus. Dale graduated from Wichita East High School in 1955, and he joined the United States Navy as an air traffic controller stationed in Manila, Philippines. He returned home to Wichita, and he started working for the United States Postal Service until his retirement in 1992. During this time, Dale met his wife, Barbara Jo James, and they united in marriage on May 25, 1968.

John Charles Spainhour, age 60, passed away on Jan. 20, 2026. Born on Oct. 29, 1965, in Kingman. He was the son of the late Con R. and Barbara Ann Spainhour, formerly of Cheney.
John was a third generation graduate of Greensburg High School, and attended his parents' alma mater, the University of Kansas, before beginning his service in the United States Navy as a nuclear propulsion plant operator and mechanic. He served with distinction, earning the National Defense Service Medal, the Navy “E” Ribbon, the Sea Service Deployment Ribbon, and the Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal.

Margaret Sue and Marvin Eugene Thompson

Margaret Sue and Marvin Eugene Thompson, died Jan. 20, 2026, near their home in Murdock.
Margaret was born March 4, 1957, at Memphis, Texas, the daughter of Jim and Shirley Pasley Colston, with Marvin born Aug. 6, 1953, at Cleveland, Texas, the son of William and Addie Davis Thompson. Residents of the Murdock community, she was a homemaker and Marvin was a retired auto parts delivery driver.
They were members of the Rolling Hills Community Church, Wichita.
