TSnews The Goddard Lions boys basketball season came to a close last week. The team finished 17th in Class 5A West, missing the 16-team cutoff to be invited to play in a sub-state game this week.

TSnews The Clearwater Indians boys basketball team ended its season with a pair of losses last week, falling 64-43 at Wellington last Tuesday and 57-24 to Andale last Thursday at Clearwater. The Indians end the season with a record of 1-19.

TSnews Last Friday, the eighth-seeded Garden Plain Owls won their Class 3A substate opener 58-41 over the visiting Trojans of Southeast of Saline, seeded ninth. The Owls slowly built up a lead through the first three quarters, holding a 37-31 advantage going into the fourth quarter before closing the game on a 21-10 run.

TSnews The Conway Springs Cardinals boys basketball team could not dig out of an early hole as it fell to Wichita Classical 56-44 in the opening round of Class 2A substate play last Thursday in Conway Springs. “I thought on paper it was a 50-50 game for us,” Conway Springs coach Paul Lange said.

TSnews The Clearwater Indians girls basketball team enters postseason play on a three-game losing streak after the Indians lost 4630 to Andale at home last Thursday. Andale jumped out to a 12-9 lead after the opening period, then extended its lead to 29-18 by the intermission.

TSnews Shooting woes hurt the Garden Plain Owls girls basketball team in a 47-25 loss at the Minneapolis Lions last Thursday, ending the Owls’ season. Minneapolis took an 18-11 lead after the first quarter.

TSnews Sarah Hendrickson put up 11 points last Friday but the Campus Colts lost their last regular-season game, a 51-34 defeat to the visiting Salina Central Mustangs. The Colts did get scoring from eight different players, but no other scorers topped 5 points.

TSnews The Argonia Raiders girls basketball team saw its season come to an end in the Class 1A Division II semifinals last Saturday night with a 28-21 home loss to the Ingalls Bulldogs. The Raiders ended their season 14-8.
