Body The Cheney Cardinals and Garden Plain Owls went head-to-head for both the girls’ and boys’ titles at the Central Plains League championship at Medicine Lodge last Thursday. Those were the only teams, girls or boys, to score more than 100 points.

Body The Goddard Lions are the 2024 Ark Valley Chisholm Trail League Div. II boys track and field champions.

Body The Argonia Raiders girls track and field team finished fourth at last Friday’s South Central Border League meet, held at Caldwell High School. The Raiders scored 72 points.

Body The Clearwater girls track and field team finished fourth among six teams at the Ark Valley Chisholm Trail League meet in Wellington last Friday. The Indians scored 90 points, coming in 12 points behind the host Crusaders.

Body TSnews Two out of four boys tennis teams in the TSnews coverage area emerged from regional meets on May 2-3 with some State bids in hand.

Body TSnews The Clearwater Indians girls track team put up 81 points and finished fifth at last week’s Circle Invitational. Twelve teams competed.

Body TSnews The Garden Plain girls and boys teams both were championships at Remington High School’s Larry Brown Invitational, held in Whitewater last Friday. The Owls racked up a lot of points and a good deal of first-place finishes.

Body TSnews The Conway Springs girls track and field team had one of its best finishes of the season, as the Cardinals placed second at the Chaparral track meet last Friday. Chaparral was the runaway winner in the girls’ competition with 153 points.

Body TSnews The Cheney boys easily won the Hesston Invitational last Thursday, scoring 150 points. They beat Halstead by 37 points.
