The Clearwater girls track and field team finished fourth among six teams at the Ark Valley Chisholm Trail League meet in Wellington last Friday. The Indians scored 90 points, coming in 12 points behind the host Crusaders.

TSnews Two out of four boys tennis teams in the TSnews coverage area emerged from regional meets on May 2-3 with some State bids in hand. For the Eisenhower Tigers, singles player Kyle King extended a strong season by placing second in a Class 5A Regional played May 3 at Arkansas City.

TSnews The Clearwater Indians girls track team put up 81 points and finished fifth at last week’s Circle Invitational. Twelve teams competed.

TSnews The Garden Plain girls and boys teams both were championships at Remington High School’s Larry Brown Invitational, held in Whitewater last Friday. The Owls racked up a lot of points and a good deal of first-place finishes.

TSnews The Conway Springs girls track and field team had one of its best finishes of the season, as the Cardinals placed second at the Chaparral track meet last Friday. Chaparral was the runaway winner in the girls’ competition with 153 points.

TSnews The Cheney boys easily won the Hesston Invitational last Thursday, scoring 150 points. They beat Halstead by 37 points.

TSnews The Campus Colts girls soccer team got a win at their second home field in Clearwater on Friday, May 3, beating the Salina South Cougars 2-1. “We needed that game,” Colts head coach Casey Reece said.

TSnews The Eisenhower Tigers girls soccer team faced a tough league rival last Thursday, May 2. Their match versus Andover ended in a 1-1 tie.

TSnews The Cheney Cardinals and Conway Springs-Argonia Reds baseball teams split a doubleheader last Thursday at Cheney, with the Cardinals taking the opener 10-0 and the Reds taking the nightcap 3-1. Cameron Eastman was brilliant on the mound in the opener, tossing a twohit shutout while striking out five and walking two.

TSnews The Goddard and Eisenhower boys track and field teams finished fourth and fifth, respectively at last Friday’s Goddard track meet. The Lions scored 76 points, while the Tigers had 53.
