Local students have been nominated for honorary ESPYs, presented by ESPN Wichita 92.3, a sports-talk radio station. The list of nominees includes: • Elizabeth Tjaden, Clearwater High School basketball, high school female athlete of the year.

Two local sports figures were presented awards by the Wichita Sports Commission in late June. Clearwater High School graduate and multi-sport athlete Elizabeth Tjaden was named as the Lynette Woodard High School Female Athlete of the Year.

TSnews As the cliché goes, all good things come to an end. The Kansas Curve summer baseball team saw its seven-game winning streak halted Monday night in a 3-2 loss at the Wellington Heat.

Aviators keep winning, improve to 10-3

The Haysville Aviators summer baseball team improved to 10-3 on the season Monday night as it rolled to a 10-0 win over the Diamond Kings at Plagens-Carpenter Park. Last Tuesday, the Aviators split a doubleheader with the Kingman Islanders, losing the opener 1410 before taking the nightcap 12-2.
