The Halstead Dragons had a dominant first half in defeating the Garden Plain Owls girls basketball team 50-34 in Saturday’s Class 3A substate championship in Haven. The Dragons limited the Owls’ offense to 14 first-half points, fewer points than the Dragons scored in each of the first two quarters.

The Campus Colts girls have state’s best bowling program, and they have receipts in the form of another State championship trophy. The Colts on March 4 won the Class 6A State title.
