TSnews A strong start and a strong finish helped the Garden Plain boys basketball team to a 51-41 home win against the Douglass Bulldogs on Feb. 17.

Dalton Wulf (190 pounds) took third at Winfield, while the quartet of Emmit Ohlde (165), Dallen Kanngiesser (215), Christian Lange (150) and Connor Stricklin (106) all took fourth.

TSnews The Clearwater Indians basketball team ran into a buzzsaw last Friday when it took on Wichita Collegiate and left with a 74-19 loss. Clearwater trailed 17-6 after the first period and was down 41-11 at the intermission.

TSnews The Goddard Lions girls basketball team split a pair of road AVCTL Div. I games last week, earning a 53-37 win at Newton on Tuesday, Feb.

TSnews A late push came up just a bit short at the Campus Colts girls basketball team lost 51-47 at home to the Hutchinson Salthawks on Feb. 17.

TSnews The Argonia Raiders girls basketball team enters the postseason on a 17-game winning streak after rolling to a 51-19 win last Friday at West Elk. Tori Morrison had a big night with 19 points, seven rebounds and a pair of steals, while Kara Jones added 11 points and four steals, Emmah Phillips had nine points and Autumn Coleman finished with seven points, seven assists and 10 steals on the night.

TSnews It has been a long time since the Argonia Raiders boys basketball team has finished with a winning record – until this season. With a 59-49 win at West Elk Friday and a 6236 win in Monday’s Class 1A Division II substate opener against Ashland, the Raiders now are 12-10 on the season and assured of finishing with their first winning season in many years.

TSnews The Clearwater Indians girls basketball team capped a perfect week in the win column last Friday by taking a 53-40 win against Wichita Collegiate last Friday – the Indians’ third win of the week. “It was a big week for us – three games and we were fortunate enough to come away with three victories,” Clearwarer coach Maygan Doll said.

TSnews The Cheney Cardinals won their 15th game of the season with a 55-35 route of the host Medicine Lodge Indians girls basketball team on Feb. 17.
