Fast run gives Owls homecoming win

TSnews The Garden Plain boys basketball picked up a winter homecoming victory last Friday, as the Owls beat the Kingman Eagles 52-43. The teams battled back-and-fourth for more than three quarters, with the Owls leading the Eagles by 2 points at halftime and by 4 points at the end of the third quarter, 36-32.

Cheney tops Trinity in key CPL game

TSnews The Campus Colts boys basketball team held on for a 71-62 win over the visiting Goddard Lions last Friday, in an inter-divisional match-up in the Ark Valley Chisholm Trail League. It was a good win for Campus after suffering a tough loss earlier in the week at Derby.

Cheney Cardinals win two games last week

TSnews The Cheney Cardinals girls basketball team won its third straight game with a 42-36 victory over the visiting Trinity Academy Knights on Heart-to-Heart night at Cheney High School. A fourth-quarter scoring burst won the game for Cheney, as the Cardinals outscored the Knights 17-8 in the final stanza.

Conway Springs starts new winning streak

TSnews After seeing its 14game winning streak snapped against Garden Plain, the Conway Springs Cardinals girls basketball team started a new one. The Cardinals downed Chaparral 60-36 last Tuesday to earn their 15th win of the season.

TSnews At the crowded Maize Invitational, the Campus Colts placed ninth out of 18 teams, scoring 118 points and finishing just one point behind Collegiate. The meet concluded on Saturday, with diving on Friday.
