TSnews The Campus Colts girls basketball team – coming off of two straight losses – started poorly in last Friday’s home game against the Valley Center Hornets. But it was the Hornets who were stinging after the Colts put together a great second-half comeback to win 55-47 on winter homecoming night.

Lady Indians win two more

TSnews The Clearwater Indians girls basketball team earned two more big wins last week, rallying for a 34-32 overtime win last Tuesday at Circle and taking another win last Friday at Winfield. “Those were two big wins that the girls definitely had to earn every bit of,” Clearwater coach Maygan Doll said.

Argonia girls keep on winning

TSnews The Argonia Raiders girls basketball team won its 11th game in a row last Friday as the Raiders rolled to a 46-16 road win over the Oxford Wildcats. “The girls used a dominate defensive effort to pull ahead early and roll to the win,” Argonia coach Morgan Grippin said.

TSnews The Argonia Raiders boys basketball team dropped its second game in a row last Friday as the Raiders fell at Oxford 48-40. The Raiders led 11-10 after the opening period and 25-20 at the intermission, but the host Wildcats came out of the locker room strong and led 35-33 going to the fourth quarter.

Lions’ Gauna wins title at Rocky Welton

The Goddard Lions wrestling team made the trip to Garden City last weekend for the always-tough Rocky Welton Invitational – and one wrestler brought home a title. On the boys side, Oscar Gauna won all of his matches by either fall or technical fall at 113 pounds to win a championship, while Thomas Walter (150) took fifth, Nick Miller (138) placed sixth, Kolton McElwain (157) and Kaston McElwain (120) both finished seventh, Matthew Martinez (132) placed ninth and Sawyer Parks (165) finished 13th.
