TSnews A 22-point second quarter helped the Goddard Lions to a 31-23 football win on homecoming last Friday, as the Lions withstood a comeback effort by the Andover Central Jaguars. “We’ve had a good stretch of luck against them,” said Lions head coach Tommy Beason.

TSnews The Argonia-Attica Titans easily won last Friday’s football game, beating the host Fairfield Falcons 48-18. The Titans led 16-0 after a pair of first-quarter touchdowns.

TSnews With a late-game touchdown, a 2-point conversion and a defensive stand, the Garden Plain Owls’ football team beat the visiting Haven Wildcats 15-14 last Friday. The Wildcats were undefeated, and these two teams are expected to be the top two teams in Class 2A District 5.

Bouncing back from the season's first loss, the Garden Plain Owls soared to a 46-7 victory at the winless Belle Plain Dragons last Friday. It was the first Class 2A District 5 games for both teams.The Owls' Emrick Hays ran for 170 yards.

TSnews The Campus Colts played their most competitive game of the season, losing 36-24 in Haysville to the Maize South Mavericks. The Colts fell to 0-4, while the Mavericks improved to 3-1.

TSnews The Goddard Lions improved their season record to 2-2 with last Friday’s 36-17 road win at the Newton Railers. Erik Olivas scored four touchdowns to the lead the Lions.

TSnews The visiting Salina Central Mustangs took over the second half to defeat the Eisenhower Tigers 4920 last Friday at Goddard District Stadium. The Mustangs got off to a good start, forcing the Tigers into punts on their first two possessions.

TSnews The annual Goddard Invitational cross country meet took place last Thursday at Lake Afton. The Goddard boys had the best overall team results, placing fourth out of 12 teams with 104 points.

TSnews The Argonia-Attica Titans beat the Norwich Eagles 30-6 last Friday in Argonia, getting a win on homecoming night and, more importantly, getting a victory in their first district game of the season.
