TSnews For the first time in 20 years, the Conway Springs Cardinals volleyball team is headed back to the State tournament. The Cardinals punched tickets to the Class 2A State tournament last Saturday with a 26-28, 25-22, 25-17 win over St.

TSnews The Cheney girls cross country team is heading to Saturday’s Class 3A State championship at Rim Rock Farm in Lawrence. The Cardinals claimed the third and final team spot at the Wichita 3A regional, finishing behind host Trinity Academy and Hesston.

TSnews Fullback Joe Diekemper had a career night in leading the Goddard Lions football team to a 44-35 win at the Arkansas City Bulldogs last Friday. The senior, who was limited last week after suffering a broken nose during a homecoming pep rally on game day, scored a career-high four touchdowns.

TSnews The Pratt Greenbacks football team – one of two front runners in Class 3A District 7, along with Cheney – won 42-13 at Clearwater last Friday. While the Indians’ offense struggled to move the ball, their defense did a commendable job, especially in the first half.

TSnews The stats from last Friday’s football game between the Eisenhower Tigers and visiting Andover Central Jaguars are a bit mind-blowing – 108 total points, more than 1,000 combined yards, 133 offensive plays and 16 touchdowns.

TSnews Kicking off an injured leg, Eli Benge helped keep the Conway Springs Cardinals’ football playoff hopes alive on Friday night. He hit a 22-yard field goal to give the Cardinals a 17-14 double overtime win at the Ellinwood Eagles.

The 6-player Cunningham Wildcats had no problem adjusting to 8-player football in last Friday’s 62-14 win over the Argonia-Attica Titans. The host Wildcats are a very good small-school program.

TSnews The Conway Springs Cardinals’ best volleyball season in many years keeps getting better.

TSnews The Campus Colts boys soccer team rebounded from an 8-0 loss to Maize South on Monday, Oct. 14, with an 8-0 win over Circle on Wednesday at Clearwater High School.

TSnews The Cheney Cardinals girls and boys teams both placed second at Thursday’s Central Plains League, hosted by Trinity Academy. Trinity swept the championships.
