Curve make round of 16 at SummerBall Showdown

The Kansas Curve summer collegiate baseball team wrapped up a strong season last week by making it to the round of 16 at last week's SummerBall Showdown in Goddard. The Curve dropped a pair of close games in pool play in Goddard, losing 5-4 to the El Dorado Walnuts last Wednesday and 2-0 to Cornbelt Omaha the next night.

TSnews The Kansas Curve summer collegiate baseball team took some solid momentum into the SummerBall Showdown by running the table to win the Kansas Collegiate League Baseball Tournament last weekend in Clearwater. The Curve opened the tournament by beating the Wellington Heat 8-7 last Friday in the first round, then beat the El Dorado Walnuts 9-3 the next evening in the semifinals.

The Curve lost 11-7 to the Park City Rangers last Tuesday, then rolled past the Midwest Moos 13-3 the next night before falling 12-2 at Valley Center last Friday.

Aviators finish season

The Haysville Aviators summer collegiate baseball team finished its season last week by dropping two of its last three games. The Aviators beat the Great Bend BatCats 9-4 last Tuesday, but dropped a pair to the Kansas Cannons to end the season.

Aviators named all-stars

HAYSVILLE – Eight members of the Haysville Aviators have been named as Jayhawk League all-stars. The players are Owen Rush, shortstop; Braden Horn, first base and designated hitter; Kayden Anderson, third base; Connor Rabe, catcher; Gam Jones, outfielder; Bryson Lake, pitcher; Cooper Senne, pitcher; and Nash Crosby, pitcher.

Aviators hit a slump

TSnews After a strong start to the season, the Haysville Aviators summer collegiate baseball team has hit a slump in recent times, having lost five of its last six contests after Monday’s 15-2 loss to the Great Bend BatCats. Leading up to that, the Aviators lost 8-1 at the Hutchinson Monarchs last Tuesday, then dropped a doubleheader at home the next day to the Junction City Brigade, losing 10-6 and 7-2, respectively.

Curve streak ends at 5

TSnews The Kansas Curve summer collegiate baseball team found itself on a five-game winning streak after a 10-5 road win on Monday over the Wellington Heat in the first game of a doubleheader – but then saw that winning streak end with a 5-2 loss in the nightcap. The Curve beat the Midwest Moos 19-3 last Wednesday, then rolled past the Heat 19-9 last Thursday at home in Clearwater.
