Blood donors desperately needed

Body The American Red Cross is declaring an emergency blood shortage as the blood supply fell nearly 25 percent in June. Blood donors are urgently needed to give now to help ensure patients receive lifesaving medical care without delay.

Garden Plain pool to open on Sunday

Body TSnews GARDEN PLAIN – After years and years of having to drive to neighboring cities, residents of Garden Plain are finally ready to enjoy their own municipal swimming pool. A ribbon cutting and remarks will take place at 12:40 p.m.

Campgrounds to reopen Friday

Body Cheney State Park will reopen the Heimerman Point and Wichita Point campgrounds on Friday. Three different campgrounds were closed in late June because of flooding at Cheney Lake.

Body WELLINGTON – This Thursday, there will be an encore presentation of “County Down, Ireland to the Cherokee Strip: the story of a Revolutionary War patriot & his Sumner County descendants,” hosted by the Sumner County Historical and Genealogical Society.
