Body Members of Wheatland Electric Cooperative, Inc. (WEC) have elected two new trustees and one incumbent to its 10-member board. Results were announced at this year’s 2025 annual meeting, held April 23, in Scott City, and at seven remote meeting locations.

Body HAYSVILLE – The Haysville City Council at its regular monthly meeting Monday approved the final documents necessary to begin a housing rehabilitation program with Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) funds.

Body GODDARD – The City of Goddard recently filled a newly-created position that will help the city better connect with residents and visitors. Danielle “Dani” Mueting has joined the city as its first community engagement director.

Body SUMNER COUNTY – Area farmers, crop producers and everyone with an interest are invited to attend Sumner County wheat plot tours. Three locations over four days will be visited.

Body GARDEN PLAIN – During the Garden Plain City Council meeting May 7, the council voted unanimously to appoint Bryan Crownover as police chief. Crownover, previously a lieutenant, has been on the Garden Plain police force since 2022.
