Duo part of hall of fame rodeo team

HAYSVILLE – The 1974 Fort Hays State University rodeo team will be inducted into the FHSU Rodeo Hall of Fame, and the team includes two members from Haysville. Donnie Simpson, currently living in Leawood, and Steve Fenster, a current resident of Healy, Kan., are among the 10 members to be inducted into the hall of fame.

City hires contractor for code compliance

TSnews GODDARD – The third time proved to be the charm at Monday’s Goddard City Council meeting for a company that provides code compliance and enforcement services. The council voted to enter into a one-year contract with Professional Code Compliance LLC (PCC).

Cheney class preps citizens for emergencies

Sedgwick County Emergency Management hosted its first Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) Basic Training in Cheney from March 28-30. Organizers said it had an excellent attendance of 19 people, from across Sedgwick County and one from Reno County.

CS meeting to launch Chamber is set

TSnews CONWAY SPRINGS – Following a well-attended business information meeting in March, business owners around Conway Springs are now ready to get a Chamber of Commerce group up and going again in this community. Several business owners in attendance at the first meeting noted that it was good to see so many local businesses represented at the meeting.
