TSnews The Goddard Public Library has a new director, but she is a familiar face to the library’s patrons. Carrie Wharton recently was named the new director at the Goddard Public Library after more than 4 1/2 years at the library.

ARGONIA – The Argonia City Council had a light agenda when it held its monthly meeting on June 3. The River Park camp hosts requested reimbursement for the purchase of two picnic tables.

Newman University has released its 2024 spring dean’s list. A total of 413 undergraduate students achieved the qualifications required, completing at least 12 credit hours and achieving a grade-point average of 3.5 or higher.

TSnews HAYSVILLE – Nearly two-thirds of City of Haysville employees are being paid below-market wages and salaries. Another 11 percent of employees get compensation that is “at risk” of becoming uncompetitive.

GARDEN PLAIN – The Garden Plain Elementary Home School Organization (HSO) and the Garden Plain Middle School Football Club are teaming up to host a fireworks stand for the first time. Volunteers are needed to help run it.

Ingredients Cooking spray 1 48-ounce bag frozen yeast dinner roll dough 3-4 tablespoons olive oil 1-2 cups pizza sauce (we used pesto) Your favorite pizza toppings (precooked) 32 ounces shredded cheese (we used a combo of mozzarella and Mexican blend) Directions Spray a large 12-by-18-by-2-inch pan with cooking spray. Spread the entire package of frozen dough evenly over the bottom and spray them with more cooking spray.

TSnews Candace Wolke has put in 21 years of dedicated banking work in the same building in Conway Springs – and now, she has received some impressive national recognition for her efforts. Wolke recently was named to the 40 Under 40: 2024’s Community Bank Leaders list by Independent Banker, a national banking publication by the Independent Community Bankers of America.

Next week’s edition of TSnews will begin arriving on Friday instead of the normal Thursday. The United State Postal System – along with banks and many government offices – will be closed in observance of Juneteenth, the nation’s newest federal holiday.
