Three EHS Tigers are State-bound

TSnews The Eisenhower Tigers will send three boys to this weekend’s State wrestling tournament after they had strong performances last Saturday at the Class 5A West regional at Newton. Leading the way for Eisenhower is Lucas Freeman (215 pounds), who took second.

Colts shine at State swimming

TSnews The Campus Colts swimming and diving team made a splash at last week’s Class 6A State competition in Lenexa. The Colts scored 50 points to finish 16th out of 25 teams that scored points at State.

Garden Plain girls notch three more wins

TSnews The Garden Plain Owls finished last week with their seventh straight victory, a 4439 home win on Monday over a stubborn, 6-win Belle Plaine Dragons girls basketball team. The Dragons started the game with an 11-6 first quarter lead.

Cardinals head to substate as top seed

TSnews The Cheney Cardinals boys basketball team wasted little time in taking care of the Douglass Bulldogs in last Friday’s 82-29 win on Heart to Heart winter homecoming night. The Cardinals got out to an 8-0 team, thanks in part to three straight steals.

Owls win big at Kingman

TSnews The Garden Plain Owls boys basketball team notched a big win at Kingman last Friday, beating the Eagles 52-24. The Owls’ defense kept the Eagles grounded for much of the game, taking a 29-13 lead at halftime.
