The Eisenhower Tigers are now one win away from the best-ever playoff run in school football history. The Tigers advanced to the substate round of the Class 5A playoffs with last Friday’s 44-14 home victory over the Topeka Seaman Vikings.

Offensive struggles were a primary culprit in the Garden Plain Owls’ 19-0 home playoff loss to the Beloit Trojans last Friday. The Owls’ running game was held to a season-low 120 rushing yards, and the Owls went 0-for-10 passing.

Andale overwhelms Cheney in anticipated rematch

The Andale Indians had a lot to prove after blowing a big lead not once, but twice, to the Cheney Cardinals last season, as the Cardinals ended the Indians’ 57-game win streak in their first matchup of 2023 and then ended Andale’s run of four straight Class 3A State titles in their playoff rematch last season.

Cheney avenges loss to Collegiate

TSnews The Cheney Cardinals erased the only blemish on this year’s record, beating the Collegiate Spartans 14-6 in Wichita on the same field where the Cardinals suffered a 24-point loss just three Fridays prior. Good field position helped set up Cheney’s first touchdown, as the Cardinals returned the opening kickoff to the Collegiate 25-yard line.

Defense clamps down in Conway Springs’ win

After an early touchdown, the Conway Springs Cardinals’ defense shut down the Marion Warriors in a 21-6 win last Friday in Conway Springs. With the win, the Cardinals advance to the sectional (quarterfinal) round of the Class 1A State playoffs.
