TSnews The Conway Springs Cardinals put up 28 points in the second half to pull away from the South Sumner Outlaws in Caldwell, 42-20, last Friday. It was the first time the Cardinals have played the cooperative program comprised of Caldwell and South Haven students.

TSnews The Cheney Cardinals were able to hold off a persistent Pratt Greenbacks football team for a 28-26 home win last Friday, in the final week of the regular season. With the win, the Cardinals finished as the runners-up in Class 3A District 7 and secured a home playoff game this week.

TSnews The host Valley Center Hornets took care of business last Friday, beating the Campus Colts 37-2 in the final week of the football regular season. It was the second win of the season for the Hornets, while the Colts ended the regular season winless at 0-8.

With deer season in full swing, Kansas Game Wardens are receiving questions regarding drones and using them as hunting aids. Drones may be used to scout on private lands that a hunter has permission to hunt.

TSnews Small school football teams in Kansas will be seeded differently going into this year’s playoffs. The recently-announced changes from the Kansas State High School Activities Association will impact schools in Class 3A and the smaller districts.

TSnews It has been said to the point of becoming cliché that all teams start the postseason 0-0. But the Conway Springs Cardinals volleyball team proved that in textbook fashion Monday evening in regional competition.

TSnews The Campus Colts, Eisenhower Tigers and Goddard Lions all ran at the Ark Valley Chisholm Trail League Div. I and Div.

TSnews The Goddard Lions went on the road and beat the Arkansas City Bulldogs 437. The win improved the Lions’ record to 6-1, and it also moved the Lions into a three-way tie on top of the Ark Valley Chisholm Trail League Div.

TSnews The Garden Plain Owls secured their second straight district championship by going on the road and shutting out the Douglass Bulldogs 44-0 last Friday. This also is the second time in three years under head coach Todd Rice that the Owls have won a district title.

TSnews The Campus Colts had their highest offensive output of the season, but came up short in their quest for a win in a 42-23 loss to the Salina South Cougars at Colt Stadium in Haysville. Both the Colts and Cougars came into the game looking for their first victory of the season.
