Cardinals pull away in second half for win in Caldwell

TSnews The Cheney Cardinals were able to hold off a persistent Pratt Greenbacks football team for a 28-26 home win last Friday, in the final week of the regular season. With the win, the Cardinals finished as the runners-up in Class 3A District 7 and secured a home playoff game this week.

Colts stung by Hornets for road loss

TSnews The host Valley Center Hornets took care of business last Friday, beating the Campus Colts 37-2 in the final week of the football regular season. It was the second win of the season for the Hornets, while the Colts ended the regular season winless at 0-8.

Owls clinch district with shutout

TSnews The Garden Plain Owls secured their second straight district championship by going on the road and shutting out the Douglass Bulldogs 44-0 last Friday. This also is the second time in three years under head coach Todd Rice that the Owls have won a district title.

Salina South edges Campus in league tilt

TSnews The Campus Colts had their highest offensive output of the season, but came up short in their quest for a win in a 42-23 loss to the Salina South Cougars at Colt Stadium in Haysville. Both the Colts and Cougars came into the game looking for their first victory of the season.
