TSnews The Clearwater Indians football team’s path to a home playoff game was most likely blocked by last Friday’s 35-0 home loss to the Collegiate Spartans. The Indians and Spartans were locked in a close game, with the Spartans scoring in each of the first two quarters for a 14-0 halftime lead.

Indians second at Council Grove, two players hit milestones

TSnews The Clearwater Indians volleyball team turned in another strong week on the court and also had a pair of players earn some special achievements. First of all, the Indians took second at the Council Grove invite, beating Santa Fe Trail 25-16, 25-10, the host Braves 25-11, 2515, Jefferson West 25-11, 25-15 and Wamego 25-23, 25-19, but falling to Clay Center 26-28, 25-27.

Turnovers hurt Titans in loss

TSnews The Argonia-Attica Titans suffered their second loss of the season and first defeat since Week 1, falling 28-12 at the Central Christian Cougars in Hutchinson last Friday. Turnovers hurt, as the Titans threw two interceptions in just eight pass attempts.

Goddard Lions drop 61, cage up the Cougars

TSnews For the second time in three games, the Goddard Lions’ offense put up a ton of points in an important Ark Valley Chisholm Trail League game. Goddard went to Salina and beat the South Cougars 61-10 last Friday.

Cheney Cardinals run over Roadrunners, 75-7

TSnews The Cheney Cardinals were firing on all cylinders in last Friday’s 75-7 home win over the Chaparral Roadrunners. The Cardinals had their highest point total since a 74-46 win over Sedgwick in 2017, head coach Shelby Wehrnan’s first season, and it appears to be the most points they have scored going back to at least 1993.
