TSnews The Goddard Lions and the Cheney Cardinals boys cross country teams finished third and fourth, respectively, out of 14 teams at last Thursday’s Halstead Invitational. Southeast of Saline (45 points) and Trinity Catholic (63) were easily the top teams.
TSnews The Campus Colts suffered their toughest loss of the season last Friday, falling 79-7 at the Maize Eagles. The Eagles, who picked up their first win of the season, put up 71 points in the first half while shutting out the Colts.
TSnews The Argonia-Attica Titans are in the driver’s seat in 8-Man II District 5 following last week’s 5812 win over the Fairfield Falcons in Attica. Leading 8-6 after the first quarter, the Titans scored 24 points in the second to go head 32-12 at halftime.
TSnews Cheney Cardinals quarterback Josh Burdick ran for three touchdowns and threw for three more, as Cheney won 47-18 at the Hoisington Cardinals in a non-district game. Cheney stands at 5-0 this season, and is tied with the Collegiate Spartans on top of Class 3A District 7 at 1-0.
TSnews The Clearwater Indians football team gave head coach Justin Burke a happy homecoming, as the Indians won 41-7 at the Chaparral Roadrunners, where Burke was head coach for a number of successful years. The victory also put the Indians back on the winning side with a 3-2 record.
