TSnews The Argonia-Attica Titans football team pounded the winless Pretty Prairie Bulldogs 56-6 in last week’s regular- season finale. The Titans wrapped up their district schedule with a 3-1 record, finishing second in 8-player Div.

Colts push Hornets in season-finale loss

TSnews A week after a disappointing loss to a winless Salina South team, the Campus Colts played much better last Friday in a 19-7 loss to the visiting Valley Center Hornets. The Hornets scored on the third play of the game for a 7-0 lead, and went up 13-0 with a second- quarter touchdown.

Cheney girls send team to 3A State race

TSnews The Cheney girls cross country team is heading to Saturday’s Class 3A State championship at Rim Rock Farm in Lawrence. The Cardinals claimed the third and final team spot at the Wichita 3A regional, finishing behind host Trinity Academy and Hesston.
The Cheney Cardinals girls qualified as a full team for the Class 3A State meet. Cheney, Campus, Eisenhower and Goddard also had individual runners qualify for State meets. All those teams will run Saturday at Rim Rock Farm in Lawrence, site of the Class 3A, 5A and 6A State races. Contributed photo

Lions ride big lead to win, eye playoff position

TSnews Fullback Joe Diekemper had a career night in leading the Goddard Lions football team to a 44-35 win at the Arkansas City Bulldogs last Friday. The senior, who was limited last week after suffering a broken nose during a homecoming pep rally on game day, scored a career-high four touchdowns.

District front-runner Pratt gets win in Clearwater

TSnews The Pratt Greenbacks football team – one of two front runners in Class 3A District 7, along with Cheney – won 42-13 at Clearwater last Friday. While the Indians’ offense struggled to move the ball, their defense did a commendable job, especially in the first half.

Tigers lose wild affair with Andover Central

TSnews The stats from last Friday’s football game between the Eisenhower Tigers and visiting Andover Central Jaguars are a bit mind-blowing – 108 total points, more than 1,000 combined yards, 133 offensive plays and 16 touchdowns. The end results was a 55-52 win for the Jaguars, which improved their record to 4-3 and dropped the Tigers to 2-6 this season.
