Owls sweep district with shutout

Body TSnews The Garden Plain Owls football team claimed its third straight district title with last Friday’s 49-0 homecoming shutout of the Douglass Bulldogs. The Owls went 4-0 in Class 2A District 5, with three blowout victories and a hard 15-14 win over Haven.

Lions’ Chapman earns medal

Body The Goddard Lions girls golf team had one of its golfers come home with a medal from the Class 5A State tournament earlier this week at Emporia. Sydney Chapman carded a 181 over the two-day event on Monday and Tuesday to finish 16th, earning a medal as a top-20 finisher at State.

Tigers 7th at 5A State

Body The Eisenhower Tigers girls golf team ended its season on Kansas’ biggest stage as it took seventh at the Class 5A State tournament earlier this week at Emporia.

Body TSnews The Goddard Lions boys soccer team opened last week with a 5-0 win at Augusta on Tuesday, Oct. 7, then fell 4-0 at Andover Central on Thursday.

Colts shut out at Hutch

Body TSnews The host Hutchinson Salthawks cruised to a 42-0 win over the Campus Colts last Friday at Gowans Stadium. The Colts’ offense was kept in check by the Salthawks’ defense, gaining just 58 offensive yards.
