TSnews The visiting Salina Central Mustangs took over the second half to defeat the Eisenhower Tigers 4920 last Friday at Goddard District Stadium. The Mustangs got off to a good start, forcing the Tigers into punts on their first two possessions.

Local teams compete at Lake Afton

TSnews The annual Goddard Invitational cross country meet took place last Thursday at Lake Afton. The Goddard boys had the best overall team results, placing fourth out of 12 teams with 104 points.

Titans get district win on homecoming night

TSnews The Argonia-Attica Titans beat the Norwich Eagles 30-6 last Friday in Argonia, getting a win on homecoming night and, more importantly, getting a victory in their first district game of the season. The Titans’ defense kept the Eagles grounded most of the game, keeping the Eagles scoreless until inside the game’s final five minutes.

Colts bounce back with two shutouts

TSnews The Campus Colts boys soccer team stacked two wins last week – 2-0 at Andover Central on Tuesday, Sept. 23, and 6-0 at home against Salina Central on Thursday – behind sharper defending and a clinical attack.

Tigers fall at Hutch

Eisenhower lost 3-1 at Hutchinson on Tuesday, Sept. 23. Lucas Freund scored the Tigers’ lone goal, and goalkeeper Jack Loibl made five saves on eight shots. The result put EHS at 4-3-1 on the season.

TSnews The Eisenhower Tigers girls golf team took third at the Bishop Carroll Invitational on Monday at Rolling Hills Country Club in Wichita, carding a 362 as a team. Leading the way for the Tigers was Stella Wright, who carded an 87 to take ninth, while Aubrey Hardtarfer placed 11th after shooting an 89.

By Michael Buhler TSnews The Cheney Cardinals volleyball team had a memorable day last Saturday at its own Red, Spike & Blue Tournament, going 4-1 on the day and winning the tournament title. In pool play, Cheney beat Nickerson 28-26, 25-20 and Wichita Collegiate 25-17 but fell to Wichita Trinity 23-25, 25-19, 18-25.
