Clara McIver, 91, died with her family by her side on Aug. 27, 2025, at Cheney Golden Age Home. She was Feb. 8, 1934, to William and Dena Sheffield in Plankinton, S.D. She married Walter "Pete" McIver on Sept. 30, 1960.
She is survived by her daughters, Laurel Rackley, Dana (Dan) Eye, Jana McIver, Kim (Wayne) Angleton, and Darcy (Craig) Harkcom; seven grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren; four sisters-in-law; and two brothers-in-law.
Frank W. Charles, age 90, retired facility manager for Bombardier Learjet, member of HOG, and a Shriner, passed away on Monday, Aug. 18, 2025.
Visitation will be 1-7 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 21, with family present 5:30-7 p.m., and funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Friday, Aug. 22, both at Webb Shinkle Mortuary, 200 S. Tracy Clearwater.
He was preceded in death by wife, Dorma (Smith) Charles; parents, Frank Charles Jr. and Opal Fowler; son, Walter Scott; and siblings, James Charles, Opal Schreiner, and Mary Edmondson.
Elsie Darlene (Fleming) Barber age 89, passed away on Saturday, Aug. 16, 2025.
Visitation will be 1-7 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 20, with family present 5-7 p.m. at Webb-Shinkle Mortuary, Clearwater. Graveside service will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 21, at Clearwater Cemetery.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Esther (Marks) Fleming; former husband, Billy Barber; son, Mark Barber; and brother, Robert Fleming, Jr.
Alberta C. “Bert” Kingsley, 96, of Conway Springs, passed away Sunday, Aug. 17, 2025, at Catholic Care Center, Bel Aire.
Bert was born May 31, 1929, at Goddard, to Leo Jacob Stump and Mary Ann (May) Stump. She grew up near Aleppo and attended St. Mary's Catholic School and Andale High School. The family moved to Conway Springs and Bert began working in private homes at a very young age.
Debra Jean Pauly, 72, of Viola, passed away Monday, July 28, 2025, at Ascension Via Christi- St. Teresa, Wichita.
She was born July 2, 1953, at Wellington, to Monta Gordon Benge and Elizabeth Mae (Sones) Benge. Debra grew up in Conway Springs where she attended Conway Springs public schools. She graduated from Conway Springs High School with the class of 1971.
