El Dorado pulls away late to beat Indians

TSnews The Clearwater Indians boys basketball team battled El Dorado close for three quarters last Friday, but a strong fourth quarter by the Wildcats proved crucial as they won at Clearwater 55-42. El Dorado led the Indians 16-14 after the opening period, but the home team rallied to tie the score at 25 by halftime.

McClellan is CPL champ

TSnews The Cheney Cardinals wrestling team had just three boys on the mat at last Thursday’s Central Plains League Tournament, but that did not stop the Cardinals from making the most of their roster. Parker McClellan pinned both of his opponents at 150 pounds to win a league title for Cheney.

Six Campus girls going to State meet

TSnews The Campus Colts will be well-represented at the Class 6A State wrestling tournament later this month after six girls wrestled their way to top-eight finishes last weekend at the Class 6A West Regional at Wichita West High School. “To say I’m proud is an understatement,” Campus coach Jake Allan said.

TSnews The Garden Plain Owls wrestling team wrapped up the regular season with a bang last Thursday when it captured the Central Plains League Tournament title. The Owls won the league tournament with 112 points, five ahead of runner-up Chaparral.
