TSnews The Garden Plain Owls girls basketball team held off a late Kingman rally, riding a first-quarter lead to a 54-50 Central Plains League road victory last Friday. The Owls lead 20-8 after the first quarter, and were still up 12 at halftime, 30-18.

Cold fourth quarter freezes Argonia

TSnews The Argonia Raiders girls basketball team’s hopes of a win on homecoming last Friday night against the Cedar Vale/Dexter Spartans were derailed by a cold fourth quarter. The Raiders scored just one basket and were 3-for-8 at the free-throw line in the final period as CVD pulled away at the end for a 43-31 win.

TSnews The Conway Springs Cardinals girls basketball team continued its winning ways last Friday as the Cardinals took a 39-26 win over the Belle Plaine Dragons. It was the ninth win in 11 tries for the Cardinals since the new year as they improved to 13-4 overall.

TSnews The Conway Springs Cardinals boys basketball team shook off a slow start to stop a two-game losing streak, taking a 64-56 win over Central Plains League rival the Belle Plaine Dragons last Friday night. The Dragons surged to an early 14-1 lead and still led 16-6 at the end of the opening period – but Conway Springs dominated the second quarter to lead 30-23 at the intermission.
