TSnews The Eisenhower Tigers baseball team improved to 13-7 on the season after sweeping a doubleheader at Arkansas City on Monday, taking the opener 7-0 and the nightcap 6-3. Last Friday, the Tigers split with Andover Central, winning the first game 7-4 but dropping the second 7-1.

TSnews The Clearwater Indians softball team swept a pair of doubleheaders to go on a four-game winning streak and improve to 18-4 on the spring. The Indians took two from Conway Springs-Argonia last Friday, downing the Reds 11-1 in the opener and 15-5 in the nightcap.

TSnews Local tennis teams wrapped up the regular season last week and looked ahead to league and regional meets. The Campus Colts were busy, hosting two home meets and traveling to Conway Springs.

TSnews Three local teams – the Cheney Cardinals, Garden Plain Owls and Clearwater Indians – placed first, second and third at last Friday’s Vernon Ferguson Invitational in Cheney. The Cardinals scored 118.33 to win, while the Owls (91) and Indians (81) rounded out the top three.

TSnews The Goddard Lions boys track and field team placed second at the April 22 invitational at Andover, while the Eisenhower Tigers placed fourth. The EHS girls were sixth and the GHS girls were 10th.

TSnews The Clearwater Indians hosted the Garden Plain Owls and nearly a dozen other teams at last Friday’s invitational track and field meet. The Garden Plain boys placed second, and the Owls’ girls were third.

TSnews The Conway Springs Cardinals boys tennis team won a varsity meet at Chaparral High School on April 22. No.

TSnews The Cheney girls track and field team put up 95 points to win the Conrad Nightingale Invitational at Halstead High School last week, beating second- place Halstead by 95 points. The Conway Springs girls scored 22 to place 12th.

TSnews The Argonia track and field team took part in the Border Queen meet on April 22 in Caldwell, and the Raiders’ long distance runners shined. Bailey Haines placed second in the 3200 meters, and came in fourth in the mid-distance 400.

TSnews The Campus Colts baseball team had a trio of strong performances last week, taking a pair of games at Hutchinson last Wednesday, 7-6 and 4-0, respectively, then earning a 6-5 win against Derby last Friday. In the opener at Hutchinson, winning pitcher Camden Stateler had a pair of hits, while Grady Clements drove in a pair of runs.
