TSnews The Conway Springs Cardinals boys and girls track teams had a trio of girls capture league titles at last Thursday’s Central Plains League meet in Belle Plaine. As a team, the Cardinals took third in the girls division with 78 points, while the boys finished 10th with 12 points.

Clearwater boys take second in AVCTL-IV

TSnews The Clearwater Indians boys and girls track teams found home to be sweet indeed last Friday when they hosted the Ark Valley Chisholm Trail League Division IV meet. Clearwater’s boys took second with 90 points, while the girls placed fourth with 92.

Tigers have trio of league champs

TSnews The Eisenhower Tigers boys and girls track teams finished the regular season last Thursday at the Ark Valley Chisholm Trail League Division II meet in Arkansas City and had a trio of individual athletes win titles. On the girls side, Emily Young won the 400 and took third in the 200; while Stella Kitt won the shot put and Ella Ranz took second in the pole vault.

Raiders win trio of SCBL titles

TSnews The Argonia Raiders boys and girls track teams competed at the South Central Border League meet at Udall last Friday – and several Argonia athletes came away as league champions. Autumn Coleman won the javelin, took fifth in the 100 and finished sixth in the discus, while Bailey Haines won the 1600 and took second in the 800.

Owls finish second at CPL meet

TSnews The Garden Plain Owls boys and girls track teams had a double dip of second-place finishes at the Central Plains League meet last Thursday in Belle Plaine. The Owls took second in the boys division with 110 points, 21 behind league champion Cheney, while the girls also finished second with 151 points, nine behind Cheney for the league crown.

Lions boys win league track title

TSnews The Goddard Lions boys track team turned in a strong performance at last Thursday’s Ark Valley Chisholm Trail League Division II meet at Arkansas City to win the league title. The Lions won the meet with 125 points, six ahead of runner-up Newton.

Colts drop close games ahead of regional opener

TSnews The Campus Colts girls soccer team closed out its regular season with a pair of hard-fought losses, but head coach Casey Reece remains proud of how his team is competing heading into regional play. On May 13, the Colts traveled to Maize and took a 5-2 loss, though the final score did not reflect the competitiveness of the match.

Two swimmers from the Campus Colts cooperative swimming program will compete this week at the State swimming tournaments in Topeka. Kimberlyn Grim, a State returner, will compete in the Class 5-1A State tournament in the 200-yard freestyle and the 100-yard backstroke.
