Jesse Irvin More, 90, passed away peacefully on Jan. 25, 2025, at his home in rural Viola, with his devoted wife of nearly 60 years, Gail, by his side. Born on Aug. 11, 1934, in rural Norwich to Claude E. and Ethel May (See) More. Jesse lived a life full of hard work, love, laughter, and an enduring dedication to his family and community.

Betty Jo Boone, 66, of Conway Springs, died Tuesday, Dec. 31, 2024, at Ascension Via Christi-St. Teresa, Wichita.

Betty was born Aug. 24, 1958 at Orange, Va., to James and Pauline (Gardner) Chambers. She grew up in Roanoke, Va., where she attended the local public schools. She graduated from Northside High School with the class of 1976.

Betty married Timothy Ferris and to this union one daughter, Jennifer, was born. She later married James Charles “Chuck” Boone and a son, James Michael, was born. Chuck passed away in 1996.

Gaila Kay Roberts, age 77, passed away at her home on Friday evening of Jan. 10, 2025. She was born on Dec. 29, 1947, in Wellington to Robert Adell Busch and June Maxine (Force) Busch.

A woman of great dedication and compassion, Gaila lived a life marked by her love for her family and her commitment to her work. She was a loving wife, mother, and a caring member of her lifelong community in Milan. Gaila's passion for music was evident in her extensive record collection, which she cherished deeply.

Glen Walton “Butch” Fieser

Glen Walton “Butch” Fieser, 76, of Norwich, farmer and stockman, died Saturday, Jan. 11, 2025, at Harry Hynes Memorial Hospice Ascension Via Christi-St. Francis, Wichita. He was born Dec. 26, 1948, in Wichita, along with his twin brother, Gene, to Earl Jennings Fieser and Irene Dorothy (Messmer) Fieser. Butch, as he was affectionately known, grew up in the Norwich community and attended Norwich public schools. He graduated from Norwich High School with the class of 1967. He continued his education for two years at Hutchinson Junior College in Hutchinson.

Betty L. Hare, 96, of Conway Springs, passed away Monday, Jan. 6, 2025, at Spring View Manor, Conway Springs. Betty Lou (Ross) Hare was born Nov. 27, 1928, on a farm southwest of Mayfield, to Milton Henry Ross and Ethel Laura (Porter) Ross. She attended rural school Union District #103 for grades 1-6 before transferring to Mayfield and Wellington. Her senior year she moved to Sterling, where her sister Marjorie was teaching, and went to high school in the morning and attended classes at Sterling College in the afternoon.
