Gail Dean Miller, 91, passed away at Harry Hynes Hospice at St. Francis, Via Christi on Oct. 20, 2024.  He was born on Oct. 5, 1933, to Vernon and Freeda (Hendricks) Miller in Cheney.
Gail married Wanda Wulf on May 3, 1953, at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church on the hill. Together they had two children, Randall and Kathie.

Gayle E. Thornbro

Gayle E. Thornbro, 66, of Norwich, died Oct. 14, 2024.
She was born Oct. 7, 1957 in Kingman, the daughter of Otis and Virginia Sjogren Coon. A Norwich resident most of her life, she was formerly the vice president of the Kansas Credit Association.
Gayle was a member of the Milton Baptist Church.

Herb Page, 84, of Rose Hill, formerly of Conway Springs and Andover, passed away Friday, Oct. 18, 2024.
Herb was born June 14, 1940, in Wichita to Paul McDuffy Page and Irene Erma (Simon) Page. He grew up in the Conway Springs community and attended the local public schools. He began working at a very young age on the family farm.
Herb was united in marriage to Carol Agnes Freund on Nov. 27, 1963, at Christ the King Catholic Church, Wichita. They made their home in Conway Springs and Houston, Texas.

William C. Schooley, 75, of Conway Springs, was called to his heavenly home on Oct. 15, 2024, at 6:45 a.m.

William was born in Rome, N.Y.,, to Wesley and Bertha Schooley on Feb. 3, 1949, the fourth of five children. Upon graduating in 1968, from Airline High School in Shreveport, La., he chose to enlist in the United States Air Force after receiving a draft notice.

Deborah Lynn (Siemsen) Volavka

Deborah Lynn (Siemsen) Volavka, 67, passed away Oct. 12, 2024, in rural Sumner County. 

She was born Oct. 12, 1957, in Ellsworth to Robert and Jo Ann (Strube) Siemsen. She grew up on a farm 5 miles northwest of Holyrood, with her younger siblings Steven, Roger and Julie. Debbie attended Holyrood Grade School, graduating in 1971. This was just a few months after her mother’s unexpected death.

Mary Jane Hoelscher age 90, passed away on Sunday, Oct. 13, 2024.

Visitation will be Thursday, Oct. 17, from 12 to 7 p.m. with family present 5:30-7 p.m. at Webb-Shinkle Mortuary, Clearwater. Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Friday, Oct. 18, at Clearwater Methodist Church, Clearwater.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Alvin Hoelscher; parents, William and Celeste (McCoy) Hutchison; son, Steven Hoelscher; and brothers, Paul Lewis Hutchison and Hoyt Hutchison.

Kim Ruth Friess, 68, passed away Wednesday morning, Oct. 9, 2024, at her home southwest of Conway Springs.

Kim was born Nov. 11, 1956, at Wichita, the daughter of Louis Arthur Jaloma and Doris Laverne Jodon. She spent her early childhood in Wichita where she attended Wichita public schools. She moved with her family to Conway Springs in 1972 and graduated from Conway Springs High School with the class of 1974. She continued her education at Hutchinson Community College before attending St. Joseph School of Nursing in Wichita.

Charlotte Ringer, 88, of Medicine Lodge, died Oct. 10, 2024, at Medicine Lodge Memorial Hospital, after being in Interim Hospice Care.

Charlotte was born on Nov. 11, 1935, at Clearwater. She was the youngest child of Carl E. And Mae Becker.

Sonya Jean Chance, 84, of Clearwater, passed away Monday, Oct. 7, 2024. She was born Feb. 12, 1940, to Hazen and Lorraine Byers in Sharon, Kan.

Sonya deeply loved her Lord and Savior. She dedicated her life in serving Him through the work of Child Evangelism Fellowship (CEF) and teaching children God's Word. Sonya's various outreaches included: VBS, Sunday School, CEF Camp Good News, CEF Teacher Training and CEF Teaching Teens. She even taught a short course at Christian Challenge High School for the teens in how to teach a Bible club to children.

Lowell H. Rohloff

Lowell H. Rohloff, 83, retired computer operator for MetLife Computer Center, passed away surrounded by his family on Monday, Oct. 7, 2024.

He was an avid gardener, woodworker and loved to hunt.

Lowell is survived by his loving wife, of 56 years, Kristy; his children, Brian (Holley) Rohloff and Shari (Tom) Jenkins; his sister, Lorraine Roberts; and his grandchildren, Mason and Emma Jenkins, and Jacob and Kolton Rohloff.
