Kathryn Louise John, 86, went to be with the Lord on Jan. 10, 2025, at her home in Prosper, Texas.

Kenneth Wright, age 80, passed away on Friday, Jan. 3, 2025. He was born April 8, 1944, to Glenn Wright and Stella (DeVoll) Wright in Leroy, Kan.

Kenneth’s life was one of profound resilience, love, and dedication to his family and community.

Patrick "Pat" Crowell, born May 27, 1938, in Sioux Falls, S.D., passed away on Dec. 31, 2024, in Winfield.

Madonna “Lou” Cook was born Aug. 21, 1936, and passed away on Dec. 30, 2024.

Lou Cook was a fun loving, kindhearted, spicy lady. She and her husband made their home in west Wichita after surviving a direct hit by the Joplin tornado.

She was creative and generous with her talents and her love. She continued to make craft items even after losing all her sight. She told stories and jokes that entertained everyone.

She was married to Kenneth James Cook for 45 years. She had a partner who could keep up with her sharp wit.

Virgina E. Murphy, 90, died Monday, Dec. 30, 2024, at her home in Conway Springs.

Virginia was born March 1, 1934, at Dodge City to Frank C. James and Alberta Ellen Thomas James. She spent her early life in Dodge City, and moved to Chicago, Ill., at the age of 7. In 1944, the family moved to 622 S. Glen in Wichita, where Virginia attended Allison Junior High. She attended Wichita North High School, where she graduated with the class of 1952.

Stanley Dean Tull, 84, of Shell Knob, Mo., retired Boeing Aircraft quality control manager, died Tuesday, Dec. 31, 2024, at Roaring River Health and Rehabilitation, Cassville, Mo.

He was born March 30, 1940, at Milton, Kan., to Hugh Lee Tull and Roberta (Olmstead) Tull. He grew up in the Milton community and attended Milton schools. He graduated from Milton High School with the class of 1958 before entering the U.S. Army as a military police officer. He proudly served his country in Germany during the Vietnam Conflict.

Michael L. Freund, 75, passed away Saturday, Dec. 28, 2024, at his home in Conway Springs.

Mike was born on Sept. 19, 1949, to Raymond Crist Freund and Lela Fern (Hardesty) Freund. He grew up in Conway Springs where he attended St. Joseph Catholic School and Conway Springs public schools. He graduated from Conway Springs High School with the class of 1967.

Mike was united in marriage to Victoria J. Ybarra on April 21, 1972, at Wellington. They made their first home in Wichita before moving to Conway Springs in 1976, where they raised their two sons.

Lottie M. Long, 83, of Derby, VA Hospital admissions clerk, died Monday, Dec. 30, 2024. Funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 8, at Central Community Church Chapel, 6100 W. Maple Street, Wichita. 

Beverly J. Sinclair was born in Garden City, Kan., on March 24, 1939, to Charles Baldwin and Evelyn (Harms) Baldwin, and passed away Dec. 27, 2024, at Via Christi-St. Teresa Hospital in Wichita. She was 85 years old.
Beverly is survived by her son, Alan Sinclair; sister, Judith Jones; multiple nephews and nieces; and many foster grandchildren.
