Sharon L. Green Huddleston, 88, died Saturday, March 22, 2025, at her residence in Derby.

Sharon was born Jan. 6, 1937, in Wichita to Lee Everett Rhodes and Ellen (King) Rhodes. She grew up in Wichita, where she attended Wichita Public Schools. She graduated from Wichita West High School with the class of 1954. She went to work at Beech Aircraft in the office under Mrs. Beech’s secretary until 1957.

Sharon was united in marriage to George Henry Green on June 24, 1955, in Wichita. They made their first home in Wichita before moving to Conway Springs in 1961.

Edgie Boyd Scott, age 90, of Haysville, passed away, Friday, March 21, 2025.

Visitation will be 1-8 p.m., with family present from 6-8 p.m., Thursday, March 27, at Shinkle Mortuary, Haysville. Service will be at 10 a.m., Friday, March 28, at 47th Street Church of Christ, Wichita.

Beverly Zoglmann, 88, died Thursday, March 20, 2025, at Spring View Manor, Conway Springs.

 

Beverly was born March 16, 1937, southeast of Conway Springs to Monta Gordon Benge and Elizabeth Mae (Sones) Benge. She attended Prairie Valley Country School for two years, and the Mayfield School for two years, before the family moved into Conway Springs during her fourth-grade year in 1947. She attended Conway Springs public schools and graduated from Conway Springs High School with the class of 1956.

Connie Louise (Prouse) Selenke was born on August 17, 1940 to Louise (Carlson) Lavell and Vernon R. Prouse. As a child the family lived in Oak Ridge, Tenn., and Little Rock and Fayetteville, Ark. When Connie was in the fourth grade, they moved back to Wichita. Connie was 12 years old when her parents divorced, and she and her brother, Lyle, continued to live with their father. Connie was proud to be in the first graduating class of Southeast High School, Class of 1958.

Darrell Wayne Parsons, 99, of Pratt, passed away Thursday, Feb. 20, 2025, at South Wind Home in Pratt. He was born on May 19, 1925, in Minneapolis, Kan., to Rollo Ray and Ada Estelle (Calkins) Parsons. Wayne married Flo (West) Parsons on March 26, 1949, in Kansas City, Kan. They were happily married for nearly 76 years.

Wayne graduated from Cheney High School and was drafted into the United States Army in August of 1943, serving in the Pacific Theater with the Americal Division during World War II. At the end of the war, he was discharged in January of 1946 at the rank of 1st Sgt.

Rita Marie (Meyer) Beers, age 72, of Wichita, passed away on Monday, March 10, 2025.
Rosary was at 6 p.m. Thursday, March 13, and funeral Mass at 10 a.m. Friday, March 14, both at St. Anthony of Padua’s Catholic Church, 615 N. Main St., Garden Plain.
Rita was always known for her long talks, whether it was sharing a pot of coffee, sitting on the front porch or just a phone call. Her most favorite thing to do was spend time with her family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Clem and Marie (Thome) Meyer.

Visitation was 1-7 p.m., with family present from, 5-7 p.m., Friday, March 7, at Shinkle Mortuary, Haysville. Service was at 10:30am, Saturday, March 8, at First Baptist Church, 125 S. Delos, Haysville.

In a world that often rushes forward, Celia Knoffloch invited us to pause and look back – not with nostalgia or sadness, but with vision and joy. Although Celia has left us, the shimmer of possibility she brought to forgotten things remains. She passed away on Feb. 20, 2025, at the University of Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha, Neb., following a short battle with cancer.
